Geographic Information

The Academical Village's central location will offer unparalleled transportation access. The geographic center of Broward County (population 1.76 million), Davie is convenient to three international airports (Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami), as well as major interstates and highways (I-595, I-95, I-75, and The Florida Turnpike). The development is set directly on University Drive, a major north/south traffic corridor for Broward County, the 16th most populous in the United States. With Palm Beach County to the north and Miami-Dade County to the south, the three make up the South Florida metropolitan area. Because its western 800 miles are environmentally sensitive wetlands, Broward County is a barrier market with very few large tracts of land available for development.

Project Highlights

The Academical Village at University Plaza will be located in Davie, Florida, on the NSU campus in the affluent western Broward County market. The Village will comprise 2,500,000 square feet of premier retail, residential, hotel, office, and medical space and will be located on thirty acres of property owned by University Associates, a partnership between The Brandon Company and NSU. The alliance between NSU, The Brandon Company and the Town of Davie provides all the elements to ensure a successful and streamlined project.
